About Himilo Post
An independent publication on how Africa builds its future — its technology, its energy, its industry and the people behind them.
Last updated 27 October 2026
Himilo is the Somali word for ambition. Himilo Post exists to report on the continent's ambition with the care it deserves: carefully sourced, clearly written, and fair to the people and companies in it.
What we cover
Our five sections are AI, Tech, Startups, Positive News and Industry & Energy. Each week we publish three reported stories: one on a global technology company whose decisions reach Africa, one on energy and industry, and one on the builders and breakthroughs that are moving the continent forward.
Who it is for
Founders, engineers and operators across Africa; the investors who back them; the people who write the rules; and the diaspora following the continent from abroad. We write in plain English for readers who are busy and well informed.
How we work
Every story is reported from primary sources, checked claim by claim, and approved by an editor before it is published. We use AI tools to help with research and drafting, and we say so; no story is published without a human editor's approval. Our full editorial standards and corrections policy are public.
Who publishes it
Himilo Post is independent. It is owned and published by Fandhaal Studio LLC, a company registered in Ohio, United States. No government, investor or advertiser owns any part of it, and no one pays for coverage.
